FAQ

Q: Can I use your icons for an RPG or personal journal?
A: Yes! Just make sure to comment and credit.

Q: How do I credit?
A: In the keywords of your icon/somewhere in your info, put peristyle. How? Copy and paste <lj user="peristyle"> into the comment field for the icon. Like this:



Q: Can I add borders?
A: Yes. You still have to credit.

Q: Can I alter your icon photoshop/paint/whatever?
A: I'd rather you not. These aren't bases. PM me or comment with a specific concern, and we'll see.

Q: What programs do you use?
A: Adobe Photoshop CS2; occasionally, Jasc Paint Shop Pro 7.

Q: Where do you get your images?
A: I find them on the web using google to find fansites (for actors/musicians). I also look on cap_it at lj, and occasionally make my own caps. For models, I usually look at Supermodels.nl, the Fashion Spot, and Style.com.

Q: Can I request that you icon someone?
A: Sure, just comment to this post. It doesn't guarantee that I will, but I can always use suggestions.

Q: Will you add me back?
A: If I know you, or if you specifically ask me to do so, I certainly will. However, if you just want to see my icons, you don't need me to friend you - icon posts are public. I'd like to be able to read my flist without resorting to filters, so if you don't ask me to add you back, I probably won't. But don't hesitate to ask if you do want to see f-locked posts!

Q: I have an icon journal, too -- can we be affiliates?
A: Unfortunately, I'm not taking any more at this time. After a certain length, I think an affiliates list is unhelpful, especially with the new IJ list of all known icon makers over at iconwatch. I may open affiliates up again in the future, but for the moment, the list is closed. Sorry! I can still add you back upon request. :)
